The TomKat Center Postdoctoral Fellowships support outstanding recent Ph.D. graduates working on projects that explore new research directions in sustainable energy and its intersection with food, water, the environment, or human health. The Fellowships are intended to attract exceptional early-career researchers to Stanford University.
TomKat Fellows will have support for up to two years to work on creative, multidisciplinary research that complements the existing work of Stanford faculty in sustainable energy-related areas, or that creates new research directions within the core mission areas of the TomKat Center.
Applications are accepted from individuals interested in pursuing postdoctoral training in areas that will strengthen sustainable energy research advancements and capacities, under the mentorship of a faculty member at Stanford University.
Incomplete applications or applications from scholars who do not meet the fellowship guidelines will not be reviewed. Scholars are expected to ensure that they meet all eligibility criteria and follow the application procedures. Fellows will be selected on the basis of their academic achievement, the promise of their scientific research, and the extent to which they bring new talent or new areas of research to Stanford. Candidates not currently at Stanford will be considered favorably. Stanford candidates: those receiving their Ph.D. from Stanford and postdocs currently working at Stanford would need to propose new research directions that are significantly distinct from their Ph.D. or current research and that will expand the University's capacity and forge new connections within the University. Stanford candidates should not propose to continue to work solely with the same professors or groups with whom they are currently associated with or on the same research already being performed at Stanford.
