ClimateAI is a small company founded at Stanford University working on quantifying physical risks from climate change. We deliver climate science results to businesses to allow them to make better decisions around climate change. We have an opening for a researcher to work at the intersection of the fields of climate modeling, regional impacts of climate change, and machine learning.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on open ended projects with a small team in a fast paced environment. We hire people who are collaborative, adaptable and communicate well. You will be working closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deploy modeling results. Expect to give and receive constructive criticism as we are constantly reevaluating our hypotheses and our products.

Required expertise

Required – Data Science and Climate Science coursework

Nice to haves –

  • Experience working with physical numerical models, especially Earth System Models
  • Experience applying machine learning algorithms to physical datasets is also strongly desired.
  • Coding experience, our web framework and data processing are done in Python,
  • our machine learning pipelines are built with Sklearn and Keras/TensorFlow.
  • Experience in statistics
