Expansion of wind energy will be critical in our fight against climate change. New policy changes like the Inflation Reduction Act and the White House’s target for 30 GW of offshore wind energy by 2030 will aid in the wind energy transition. These policy changes are complex and address many bottlenecks, but ultimately, the rate and success of our wind energy transition is limited by the manufacturing of components like rotor blades. These blades are essential components that allow efficient harnessing of wind for power generation but are laborious, expensive, and time-consuming to build. We are developing new materials that will address major manufacturing limitations of blades, accelerating our transition to renewable energy.
