The next generation of photovoltaics will need increased efficiency without significant increases in manufacturing costs. Iris PV has developed perovskite-based technology that can be used by current silicon and thin film photovoltaic panel manufacturers to boost the performance of their products well beyond the current limits. Perovskite tandem solar cells are a prime candidate for mass adoption because they use low-cost materials and can be applied with a low-cost solution process. Iris plans to establish the commercial viability of mechanically-stacked perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells that have a better price/performance point than traditional silicon modules.
