Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) are a necessary component of the clean energy transition. However, current LIBs are inherently unsafe due to their flammable liquid electrolyte, which also hinders the introduction of higher energy density chemistries. We have developed a patented polymer electrolyte that is safe, high performance, and mechanically robust. Our technology has the potential to improve the performance and safety of LIBs. Our polymer electrolyte technology can be introduced into LIBs via conventional manufacturing processes, opening opportunities for widespread-adoption.
