Sunscreen Inc. stops heat waves for farms and data centers by creating invisible clouds. We are inspired by the burning down of Solomon’s (CEO) hometown, Los Angeles. Sunscreen Inc. extends chill hours for pistachios by creating an artificial fog / cloud that uses no water. Sunscreen Inc.'s team is composed of graduates from Stanford University. Sunscreen Inc.'s technology increases crop yields, stops heat waves, and improves water usage for farmers. They've completed a series of successful pilot projects already.

Responsibilities

  • Support design, prototyping, and testing of Sunscreen’s cloud-generation hardware (drones, sprayers, sensors, and field equipment).
  • Assist with field pilots across California—setting up equipment, running tests, collecting measurements, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
  • Analyze environmental and thermal sensor data to evaluate cloud performance and cooling impact.
  • Help build operational processes for manufacturing, logistics, and deployment of cooling systems at farms and data centers.
  • Work directly with the founding team to iterate on product designs, run experiments, and prepare technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with farmers, data-center operators, and research partners to deliver successful pilot demonstrations.

Who Should Apply

  • Students who want to work on climate-tech hardware and hands-on engineering.
  • Builders who enjoy rapid prototyping, outdoor field work, and seeing their work deployed in the real world.
  • People who thrive in fast-moving environments and want to solve extreme heat challenges for agriculture and infrastructure.
  • Anyone excited about sustainability, drones, sensors, cloud-cooling systems, or applied engineering.

Required Expertise

  • Basic proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or software engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to work safely with tools, electronics, and field equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to document experiments clearly.
  • Willingness to travel to pilot sites and work outdoors during testing.
  • Comfort with Python/Matlab/R for data analysis or experience with mechanical/electrical prototyping (CAD, soldering, fabrication, machining, etc.).
