PHNX Materials is a leader in green cement. We transform landfilled coal ash into a supplementary cementitious material and extract critical metals like aluminum, rare-earth elements and titanium. Founded by Stanford alums, we are committed to reducing CO2 emissions from heavy industries.

We are seeking a Stanford student with experience in material characterization. This role involves testing and characterization of different samples, analyzing the results, and suggesting improvements to experimental design.

Responsibilities

Preparing samples to undergo characterization
Utilize analytical techniques like ICP-MS, ICP-OES, XRD, and XRF for material characterization and testing
Analyzing results to inform success and outcomes of experiments
Suggest improvements to experimental design and future experiments
Ensure environmental and safety compliance during sample preparation and testing

Required expertise

Prior experience working in lab with physical samples
