At Kit Switch, we are transforming the way apartment interiors are designed and built. Installing interiors will not only be required across new construction projects, but also in the vast majority of existing buildings in need of an upgrade. Kit Switch provides an all-in-one solution to turn those spaces into quality, affordable housing by delivering ready-to-install kitchen, bathroom, and storage modules. These ready-to-install kits shorten timelines, reduce costs, and lower carbon emissions while offering a more predictable process for developers, architects, and contractors. Responsibilities
Kit Switch is searching for a Product & Architectural Design Intern. In 2025, Kit Switch will be delivering kitchen and bathroom kits to multifamily housing projects for the first time, expanding from the one-off pilot deliveries done so far. During Summer 2025, we will need your help in supporting product development, marketing and communication endeavors, and sales growth.
Some example projects include:
- Contribute to the development of a design guide for architects to design with Kit Switch and specify our products.
- Collaborate with Product Designer in creating 3D renderings and line drawings.
- Support in the creation of project case studies to be distributed with prospective clients.
- Support Product Designer in updating the Product database, tracking cost and lead times, updating finishes.
- Incorporate updates to the website including new product releases, delivered projects, and team updates.
- Contribute to new product research.
- Contribute to the development and prototyping of a low-carbon version of the Kit Switch kits.
- Learn about manufacturing and improve internal processes for qualifying manufacturers for quality, safety, lead time and cost.
- Carry market study and research pilot opportunities in New York State and New Jersey.

Required Expertise
- A background in Product Design, Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability is favored but not required.
- Any experience with the following is preferred: 2D/3D modeling, shop drawings, prototyping, construction methods, life cycle assessment, embodied carbon, professional writing, market and industry reports.
- Familiarity with real estate, architecture, construction, and affordable housing.
Preferred Skills/Majors
- AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, other 2D/3D Modeling software, Google Drive Suite, Microsoft Suite, Slack, Notion.
- A creative eye, good imagination, vision, and a firm grasp of market trends and customer preferences.
- Motivated, proactive, passionate, well-organized, and detail-oriented with excellent team communication skills.
