Nitricity produces nitrogen fertilizer on-site using just air, water, and renewable electricity. It is our vision that farms will fertilize themselves using our renewable process that is economical and minimizes wasteful runoff and gaseous emissions. We have developed a technology that couples with a solar or wind and produces nitrogen-based fertilizer directly at the point of use.


This position will involve a variety of responsibilities ranging from mechanical/electrical design, procurement, and hands-on construction of a solar-fertilizer system.

Who Should Apply

Required: Students who are builders and can take ideas from the whiteboard to a machine shop (or soldering station) to put together a real-world system. This position will involve hands-on development of a solar-based fertilizer system and involve some machine, electronics development, and assembly. Students must be okay working outside for a day and willing and able to lift/carry 350 W solar panels (45 lbs).

Preferred: students with a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering with experience designing systems. Able to understand and design simple electrical systems.
