Yocto is an early-stage startup seeking to revolutionize bacterial identification and detection and reduce the processing time from days to minutes. We are developing a rapid and low-cost optical technology to identify bacterial pathogens in various media such as food, water and biofluids. Instead of relying on bacterial cultures to amplify the number of pathogens to a detectable level, we have developed a proprietary technology that leverages bioprinting, optical spectroscopy and AI.
Successful candidates will be working with a diverse team of researchers and will take the lead in testing, characterizing and optimizing our first prototypes as well as communicating with potential customers to meet their system performance requirements.
Who Should Apply
We welcome applicants at any stage in their career who are passionate, self-driven, enthusiastic to work on a multidisciplinary project and team, and unafraid to learn new skills.
- Basic experience in optical spectroscopy and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with data analysis software (Matlab and/or python)
- Knowledge of optical system design and/or bioprinting.
- Familiarity with basic microbiology is a huge plus.
We particularly welcome candidates pursuing Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Chemistry, Computer Science.
