Our mission is to decarbonize the $100B hydrogen market. Founded by two Stanford Engineering PhDs, Molten Industries has developed a novel approach to crack natural gas into clean hydrogen and solid carbon, thus eliminating gaseous CO2 emissions from traditional hydrogen production.

From our team’s decade of experience in the solar industry, we have realized that electrification alone with struggle to decarbonize heavy industry with the urgency necessary to mitigate the harshest effects of climate change. Heavy industry (cement, steel, chemicals, fertilizer) currently emits over 10 Gt-CO2 per year, making up over 20% of global CO2 emissions. Low-cost and clean hydrogen has the potential to mitigate emissions from heavy industrial sectors, enabling carbon neutral or negative fuel and petrochemical production.

Responsibilities

Engineering – reactor design, fluid modeling, process engineering, hands-on building and parts fabrication, materials characterization, systems engineering

Operations and Business Development – site selection, permitting, carbon market analysis, hydrogen market analysis, supply chain, customer discovery
